Tony James

Chief Operating Officer

Tony James has served as Chief Operating Officer of Spheris since December 2005 and is responsible for supervising Spheris' global network of more than 5,500 professional medical transcriptionists. Before assuming the role of Chief Operating Officer, James was Spheris' Chief Financial Officer; a position he had held since January 2001. James joined Spheris in November 1999 as the company's Controller.

Prior to Spheris, James held a number of finance and accounting positions over a seven year tenure with Mariner Post-Acute Network. Additionally, he worked for two years in public accounting for Schoenauer, Musser & Co.

James is a certified public accountant and received a bachelor of arts in accounting from the University of Northern Iowa.
