Daniel J. Kohl

President and Chief Executive Officer

Daniel J. Kohl joined Spheris as President and Chief Executive Officer and was elected to the board in November 2008.

Kohl brings more than 30 years of executive management experience in the health information, services, and product sectors of the healthcare industry. He began his career with Baxter International, Inc., the manufacturer and distributor of hospital supplies, equipment and systems formerly known as American Hospital Supply Corp. From there, Kohl served in executive roles with Abbey Medical, Coram and Equifax. In 1997, he joined Housecall Medical Resources, a $200 million publicly traded home healthcare company, as the President and Chief Executive Officer. From there, Kohl left the healthcare industry for a few years to serve as the President and Chief Executive Officer of 21st Century JobFinder, a start-up IVR-based employment and recruiting company. In 2001, he joined Sonus Corp., the largest distributor of hearing aids in North America, as the company’s Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining Spheris, Kohl served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Pediatric Services of America, a leading provider of pediatric private duty nursing and day treatment center services.

Kohl holds a master of business administration from Southern New Hampshire University and a bachelor of science from The Citadel.
