Michael J. King

Michael J. King joined the Spheris Board of Directors in December 2004 following the company's acquisition of HealthScribe. King was Chairman and CEO of HealthScribe until the acquisition by Spheris. Prior to joining HealthScribe in 1999, he served as Chairman and CEO of The Compucare Company, an application software vendor focused on the healthcare provider marketplace. His more than 25 years of extensive national and international experience is in corporate profit management, marketing, services, product development and planning with the information technology and electronic manufacturing industries.

Educated in England, King holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Sheffield and in management studies from the University of Hatfield (now known as the University of Hertfordshire).
